Catching up with Dresden...

I've just finished reading the last 130 pages of Changes.

And now I feel completely mentally exhausted.

But in a very good way :o)

Ghost Story is out soon too.

The good thing about Side Jobs is that, being short stories, you can just take them one at a time. Especially as the earlier ones are shorter. You don't have to commit to the whole book at once. Honest.

(Although Aftermath is terrific, just not in the way you want it to be :-)

I'm still making my way through the short stories book a month on,- having two very active children is not good for the ability to read much!

You seemed a bit lukewarm about the Dresden books last time you mentioned them - sounds like you've been drawn in a bit more now?

Yes, this is a carefully-timed catching up ;o)

I very nearly ploughed straight into Aftermath immediately after finishing Changes, but then I realised it's actually quite long as short stories go. It can wait. Honest :o)

I never seem to find much time to read, even without the active children!

I loved them to begin with, but I got slightly burned out from reading too many of them in a row. Going straight from the big, epic climax of one book straight into the slow build-up of the next doesn't really work, and I started to forget which bits of information related to which story. There were also a few sections that were particularly annoying.

Recently I've been alternating Dresden with other reads. That's worked very well and helped me get back into enjoying the series. And when the books are good, like Changes, they're un-put-down-able :o)

Ghost story has been on pre-order since January.... ;)
