Since it's still hot enough that "anyone not wearing 2,000,000 sunblock is gonna have a really bad day"*, I decided to spend a large chunk of my Sunday in a nice air-conditioned cinema.

First up was Superman Returns, ( which was so terminably dull I'm sticking my review behind this cut. )

To make up for this disappointment, I also saw Pirates 2: Tentacular Spectacular again. Yeah, I know it's got an equally over-indulgent running time, but at least Pirates manages to cram in enough action and plot contortions to fill that time properly. I spotted a few things I missed the first time around. ( Spoilers! )

Good selection of trailers:
- Cars is out this Friday - Anyone planning on going to see it at the weekend?
- Despite my better judgement, I can't help wanting to see My Super Ex-Girlfriend. It just looks fun :o)
- There was yet another new trailer for the legendary Snakes on a Plane (What is that, three now?). But I'm still none the wiser as to which tail belongs to which snake on the poster.
