I enjoyed Dr Who. It was good to see the TV movie again, for all it's flaws. I'd forgotten what a stupid haircut the young lad has, and he never really rises above being a cliche of a character.

The film is interesting to a Who fan, launching a new doctor, and showing off new effects. Paul McGann would have been a good doctor, I think. Unfortunately, the doctor is a passive character for a lot of the story, as he recovers from the traumatic regeneration. New viewers don't really get to see him in action, in control, being The Doctor. And there isn't enough backstory to his relationship with the Master. we're pretty much just told that they are arch enemies, rather than being shown anything, and so much of the Timelords' powers is unexplained. I can see why it didn't take with new, US audiences.
