I HONESTLY wasn't going to buy these...

Ooops.

Dinner and a movie, anyone? ;)

These two models have been calling to me for ages. I know many of you have been covetously eyeing up the Detective's Office recently. I do like it, but not to the same extent. There are ten in the modular building series now, at over £100 each, so buying them all really isn't an option. They are a great series, though, and I enjoyed building these two. I shall be keeping an eye out for others which take my fancy.

Just one slight modification was needed to the Palace Cinema - The auditorium had only six seats, which is faintly ridiculous. I increased it to sixteen, which still isn't likely to turn in a profit, but it is a lot better. I could have stretched to twenty, but then the front row would have been very close to the screen (only two studs away). Here's a couple of before and after views:

What do you reckon - Another row in front of not?

Another row in front would be far too close to the screen for a decent image, or comfort. It's an unusual auditorium without a proj box, maybe that's something to think about, though there's not much room. A Mighty Wurlitzer would be awesome too. There might be enough space for an usherette with an ice-cream tray :)

I think it's good as it is - think of it as a luxury cinema, wouldn't want strained necks. :-)

Thank you for making me Google "Mighty Wurlitzer"! ;o)

I don't know about "luxury" - At the very least it needs some blackout drapes for all the windows!

You could maybe fit someone lying down in front of the speakers at the front, but not another row of seats...

But who would ever want to do that? What do you think this is, some sort of student cinema? ;o)
