He was second in line once. But distant enough now. I like to think if there'd ever been a realistic chance of him inheriting the throne, he'd have been whipped into shape pretty sharpish. But even if it came to the worst, there are enough checks and balances in the system that there's a limit to the damage he could cause. And a truly awful king could be forced to abdicate (see James II and Edward VIII).

No system is perfect. It's been well over three centuries since a British monarch tried to dissolve Parliament in order to have things their own way, but barely more than three years since a British Prime Minister tried to do the same. And arguably caused more damage to the country and was just as hard, if not harder, to get rid of.

I imagine those who grow up in the public spotlight have little choice but to learn the goods and bads of social media very quickly. But I don't believe the Cambridges need to break out the tin foil hats just yet.
