Yakety Trax

I tried out my new Yaktrax this morning on the walk into work. They're brilliant! After a while I started deliberately walking on the slippiest-looking patches of ice I could find - No problem! How have I not discovered these things before?

Sadly I didn't need them for my walk home. Is there much snow left up Crookes / Walkley way? It's all looking rather melted down here in the valley. :o(

If there is, I have one question for tomorrow:

"Do you wanna build a snowman Hideous Zippleback?" ;o)

I expect there's snow at Bole Hill Park. There was some snow on School Road when I was up there this afternoon. The top of the Ponderosa probably still has snow too, as that's shaded and doesn't get much sun.

I'll be spending morning and early afternoon recovering from all the nipping about today, and maybe sorting some furniture. I don't have energy for playing in snow tomorrow.

Haven't I been telling everyone for years how awesome Yaktrax are? ;-)
Sadly I had to deliberately seek out the patches of ice today - they feel really weird on bare pavement.

Which ones do you have? The genuine Yaktrax I looked at seemed like they would wear out really quickly on non-icy pavement, I have a generic rubber and chain arrangement and they work really well but they do need sturdy footwear as you end up with quite a bit of heel to toe compression going on
