Golden weekend

rich_jackoSo let's get this straight: Team GB kick off Saturday with two Golds in the rowing, then the women's cycling team grab a third. That'd be pretty good for one day, but in the evening there's another hat-trick of Golds in the athletics. In the space of 45 minutes there was that amazing victory for Sheffield's very own Jess Ennis, followed by further Golds for Greg Rutherford and Mo Farah. (The men's football team get knocked out on penalties again, but when your team's won six Gold Medals in one day, no one seems that upset.)
Then on Sunday we get another Gold in the sailing, before Andy Murray beats, nay demolishes, Federer in straight sets in a final at Wimbledon.
And somewhere along the way, we pick up another 5 Silvers and 3 Bronze, making 14 medals in total over the weekend.
That's not bad! Who says the Brits are rubbish at sports? :o)
