Dark Floors: The Lordi Motion Picture is, as you'd expect, very cheesy. As it's basically an 80 minute music video (without the music), it doesn't make a great deal of sense, but it is very stylishly shot. There's some vague semblance of a plot, and a few interesting ideas about being trapped in time. Plus zombies.

I'm a bit disappointed. I was hoping it'd be much worse than that! ;o)

Still, it was worth picking up on DVD if only for the amusement value of the extras. These include a press conference with the band in full monster costumes, but without even trying to put on the usual gravelly monster voices or bravado, and just coming across as slightly camp :o)

Well, the Day of the Beast (No, not this!) seemed to be marked mainly by glorious sunshine, a fairly easy day at work, and all things far from fire and brimstone.

So the occasion wasn't completely lost, I gave in to the temptation of cheesiness and went to see The Omen remake. (It's quite good, but adds nothing if you've seen the original - I think the script was copied verbatim.) It seems most of Sheffield had the same idea, and I got one of the last tickets before every showing sold out, even though they put it on two screens simultaneously. I wonder how successful it would have been if it wasn't for the significance of the date? Could this film have the biggest second day drop-off in takings ever? And when did we all become such number geeks anyway?

Hmmm, Lost is on in a few minutes... ;o)

I also marked the day by purchasing Lordi's album. Which, as you would expect, rocks. ]:o)

Crikey! That was all a bit epic, wasn't it? And properly sofa-clutchingly terrifying too! I think this was the best Doctor Who episode yet, ever since they relaunched the series :oD

I spent much of today helping [livejournal.com profile] talma and [livejournal.com profile] gothicgoverness move house, although I'm not bothered enough by Eurovision to join in any of the various parties this evening. I've got it on in the background, just to see if this lot (a.k.a. the Sycorax) actually manage to win. I hope they do, with their wonderfully out-of-place plastic Finland hat!
