Yesterday was a good day. Another day of walking and pub lunch. I could get used to this :o)
This time it was the annual gathering of the "Duncan Road Christmas" gang (Yes, I know it's early, but December's already full!), minus those who've unexpectedly moved to Milton Keynes, or are the other end of the country and expecting a baby in four weeks' time.
After a leisurely breakfast, we had a gathering of ten round at my place, a warming round of tea, then hit the walking trail through Rivelin valley. I was a bit worried about this plan given the horrendous weather of late, but we got lucky. It was a crisp and sunny day, about the best you could ask for at this time of year.
We had lunch at The Rivelin, which disappointingly had no proper beer, but made up for it by being really friendly and doing a good roast Sunday dinner.
We ambled back, via the playground by the cafe to let the kids play for a bit, then had more rounds of tea, The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, and Chinese takeaway. All good :o)
