That's a fair comment. I was expecting it to be funnier too. But although it wasn't quite what I expected, I still enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Those other two films are just as dark, I reckon, but the extra humour does take the edge off, whereas in Three Billboards it's used more sparingly, and never undercuts the tension.
