Yikes! I'm glad that summer has finally arrived and all, but it really is just too damn hot at the moment. I went swimming this morning, which was lovely for cooling me down, but half an hour after I finished I was sweltering again. Retreating home, drawing the blinds and flinging all the windows open was definitely in order.
It does mean the evenings are very pleasant though. It was comfortably cool outside for
edy_'s barbeque last night, and I've just walked home at midnight for the second day running, in a short-sleeved shirt and no coat. The weird thing is, it's not even fully dark yet. I know it gets like this every year close to the solstice, but it still catches me out every time.
Dilemma for the week - Do I give in and catch the tram to work, since it's really too hot to walk? Or do I figure that at least if I'm outside I'm in the open air, and it'll be a hundred times worse on a packed tram? Hmmm...
P.S. - Hoo-bloody-rah. And not before time. Now hopefully all this nonsense can be laid to rest once and for all.
