Over-worked and under-geeked

I've just been browsing through various people's LJ's, and I'm not sure whether I'm more scared by how prolifically some people manage to post here, or just jealous that they mostly seem to be able to do so during work hours.
Even if my work Internet access allowed me to use LJ (I've never tried), there's not a cat's chance in Hell that I'd ever manage to find more than a couple of spare minutes to log in here.
Being the sole person at my grade in the office at the moment, I started today with a mountain of cases on my desk (The in-tray was definitely threatening to break under their weight), cleared them, dealt with about a hundred queries from colleagues, another hundred phone calls from solicitors, and finished the day with a completely different mountain of cases on my desk.
And it's only going to get worse as the week goes on. Apparently, my team is "in a better position" than the other teams around us. Which means we're supposed to be helping them out as well...
Don't be surprised if I collapse and fall asleep in the pub on Friday.
At least I can stave off the pangs of my LJ-deprived state with other geek news. Not only do I have loads of exciting Doctor Who stuff to look forward to, there's also must-have Star Wars goodies here, here and here. Plus, there's finally a confirmed date for the Transformers movie :o)
