McLaren set to launch fuel appeal
I'm in two minds about this. On the one hand, it'd be great if Lewis were world champion, but on the other hand, it's a crap way to win a world championship and a victory like that does nothing for the sport.
A big part of me thinks that the better team and the better driver won on the day, and they should just leave it at that. Raikkonen is a deserving champion and Hamilton will have plenty of chances to come.
But then again, McClaren seem to have had every FIA decision go against them this year, and have suffered far harsher penalties than other teams who have infringed the rules. If I were Ron Dennis, I'd be pretty pissed.

Date: 2007-10-22 03:31 pm (UTC)I don't think the cooler fuel alledgedly used by Williams and BMW will have made any difference to the actual race result, so I don't think McClaren will win the appeal. But as you say, I can understand Ron Dennis being pissed off.
I was surprised by how cheerful Fernando Alsonso was at the result. I guess he'd rather be beaten to the championship by Kimi than by his own team mate, and a rookie at that.
