Week of freedom

As some of you know, on finding myself in the fortunate situation of having more annual leave than I need, I took this week off work. And I've actually been reasonably productive with it too. I've:
- Finally finished changing my address with everyone since moving house (These last few involved doing things like actually writing to them or going in in person, so I'd been putting it off);
- Renewed my passport, at least, that is providing they don't tell me my face is 1mm too close to the camera with 2 pixels too much reflection on my glasses to meet their exacting new photo standards;
- Got myself a shiny new 24" widescreen telly, so I no longer have to squint at the 12-year-old portable one I've been making do with for the last few months (On the plus side, they knocked twenty quid off the price just because it didn't have a box. On the down side, I had to be up at half six this morning for the delivery...);
- Reduced my ignorance of anything in my immediate surroundings that isn't in the direction of town, by taking a walk out through Middlewood and Great Hollins Wood (got some great photos too - it was a glorious day);
- Sorted out the last 15 months worth of photos (you wouldn't believe how long this takes!);
- Sorted through a load of other junk as well; and
- Made a significant dent in that pile of books I have to read.
Okay, some of those are stretching the definition of "productive" quite a bit, but it feels like I've achieved quite a bit. There was also Lard Clubbage at Hei Moon on Wednesday (great food, shame about the service but I guess they'll learn). And I saw Red Eye (surprisingly good, apart from the silly-yet-inevitable last 15 minutes) and The Business (nothing special, Brit gangster flick by numbers, only with added cheesy '80s pop) at the piccies.
I won't be able to make it to t'pub tonight, as I'm having a belated leaving do with my old team at work. I finished working with them last Friday, and I start with my new team on Monday.
Have a good weekend, in case I don't see you!
('cause obviously, if I do see you, your weekend would be ruined...)
