You lied to us, Steve Moffat!

...in which Rich argues with himself in a slightly mad fashion.
THEORY: "Everybody lives!" was a lie. River Song lived on in CAL's world (We should call it that ;o)), but the rest of her crew died. The "crew" she was reunited with at the end were just CG copies created to flesh out her world in the same vein as Donna's "kids" were fake.
The case:
Alive: River's narration said that everybody lived. So everybody lived.
Dead: Maybe that's what River thought, but it doesn't make it so. Wouldn't Dr Moon think she was better off believing that her crew were really there with her?
Alive: You're reading unintended stuff into it. If they meant that they would have said so. Stop undermining the drama!
Dead: But that would mean they were fully uploaded to the computer from the life support thingies on their suits, which would mean the Doctor's clever backwards-planning and mad rush to get to the core and upload River from the sonic screwdriver was completely pointless. Now who's undermining the drama?
Alive: But it was already established that they could upload from the suits - look at Miss Evangelista.
Dead: Yeah, look at Miss Evangelista's photoshop-melted face! She said herself she was "what's left of Miss Evangelista". She was a trace, not entirely there. Why weren't the crew at the end similarly half-formed? They were never properly uploaded in the way River was.
Alive: Maybe that was because the computer was low on memory at the time. Once the other 4,022 people were downloaded and the Doctor fixed the data core, it recovered and filled in the gaps. Maybe it completed Miss Evangelista's face from the data it got from River.
Dead: That's still a copy. By the time the computer was fixed and there was hard disk space to spare, the rest of the crew were long dead. There was no opportunity to upload their "real" selves.
Alive: From the conversation with CAL and Dr Moon, River knew full well she was in a virtual world. Why would she be so pleased to see people who weren't real?
Dead: Dunno. For the same reason she decided to play Mum to a pair of fake kids as well as to CAL, I guess.
