Pope consecrates Sagrada Familia

Yeah, yeah, protests, Pope's dubious morality, blah blah blah, whatever. BUT LOOK AT THE SHINY CHURCH!!!

It's come on a long way since I was there. (Well, it was eight and a half years ago.) At this rate, they might actually finish it before I die after all :o)

Only decent thing to come ourt of my last Spanish visit was Barcelona - Gaudi heaven,Flopy ice - cream builings , and a day behind the scenes at the zoo and meeting Snowball, the albino gorilla.
Will they EVER finish that lovely place though?

I dunno, I think it looks a bit plain, on the inside at least. Actually in terms of faith I'm in favour of that but in terms of aesthetics it just leaves me a bit cold.

Have you seen saint chappelle in Paris? that's pretty shiny.

I've found a better picture now, where it looks less plain, and changed the link :o)

It's one of my favourite buildings. The outside (http://www.spanish-architecture.info/SP-BA/BA-006.htm) is way funkier than the inside, but the inside looks pretty impressive too. Mostly I'm just impressed that it has an inside now. It was mainly outside walls open to the sky when I visited.
