Yesterday I got to go in the
Lloyd's Building, which was pretty damn cool.
It's in the middle of high rise architecture central too, what with the
Cheese Grater across the road, the
Walkie-Talkie just around the corner (I took care to avoid any
killer heat beams!), and the
Monument, the
Gherkin and the
Natwest Tower all in the same neighbourhood.
I didn't take any pictures inside the LB, but it's just as funky on the inside as it is on the outside. I loved that you can see the inner workings of all the escalators. The "Old Library" is a bit incongruous, being a wood-panelled room reconstructed from the previous building on the site. It also doesn't have any books in it.
