My Lego town is gradually growing. I've been working on my latest build, on and off, for a couple of months and it's now complete. It's a leisure centre, to the same scale as the various modular buildings. It contains roughly 2,300 pieces plus minifigures. The inspiration started with a spare blue baseplate I had and windows in the pick-a-brick wall at the Lego shop in Meadowhell - The finished building contains 133 of them.
The ground floor contains a reception area, leading into the swimming pool, with slide, diving board, steps in at either end, lane dividers, lifeguard chair and spectator area, as well as steps up to the first floor.
The first floor is rather packed. It contains the gym (with treadmill, exercise bike, mat, punchbag, bench and weights), changing area (with lockers, cubicles, shower and toilet), as well as a viewing balcony down to the pool below and stairs up to the second floor.
The second floor is the cafe, with its rooftop terrace, where minifigures can sit in the coloured seating and enjoy their drinks and snacks with views over the town. The coffee machine is slightly modified from one by a professional Lego builder, but the rest is all my own design.
There will be more buildings to come at some point. I don't know how soon, but I have a grand masterplan... :o)
