As I was out role-playing from before race start to 10-ish, I decided to watch the highlights programme rather than tape the whole race and watch it. Possibly just as well, as I only had 50 mins or so of tension, rather than the full 90+. I tried to aboid seeing anything on the news beforehand, but the schedule was running 15 mins late. So I glimpsed a couple of items that suggested Lewis might have won (or at least, not lost) but wasn't 100% sure. So was on the edge of my seat for the last lap - or would have been if not for having two cats on my lap.
Kudos to Felipe Massa, who drove well and was dignified in defeat. He seems like a nice guy, and I'd rather have him win the championship than Kimi Raikonnen. Just imagine the celebrations if Massa had won the championship, and won it in Brazil. We'd be able to hear the celebrations from here !
I'm glad that Massa won in front of his home crowd. In other circumstances I might have been rooting for him to win the championship. It must have been awful to cross the finish line, thinking you had won the title, only to lose it half a minute after your race had ended. He seemed to take it really well, all things considering.
The last five laps were incredibly painful to watch!
